Add term ‘understanding’
Grim and Hannon claim that "Understanding is a kind of cognitive accomplishment, and the objects of understanding—from people, to languages, to scientific theories, to logical proofs—are strikingly varied."[1]
Accomplishments, on the other hand, are considered to be of event type. And all the event types are understood under the "category of temporally extended entities, called processes" [2]
Accordingly, one suggestion would be as follows: the genus proximus for the term understanding can be cognitive accomplishment, which can then be categorised as BFO:process.
